I am a writer and educator by training, but I was born a "foodie"-- I love to
cook and try all kinds of new methods and ethnic traditions. I lived in the
San Francisco Bay Area for six years, where I got very spoiled, because I
could find ANYTHING at all-- all the herbs you can imagine, any sauce or
flavoring and nifty cooking gadgets. But, alas, I moved to a very small town
in Texas, so now I use the Web to find things.
This is my favorite gardening store, and so of course, it is also my favorite gardening site. Its a feast for the eyes, along with a lot of information.
This page has an encyclopdeia approach, where you can look up each spice, find information about using it storing it its complements, etc. You can also search their "recipe box", for highly technical recipes like cardamom coffee. (guess what the ingredients are) All joking aside, it is a very nice site.
This is a page devoted to the public television series by the same title. The show is about the California Culinary Academy, and is on KQED, in San Francisco. I like it because they have sample recipes, but it also has a schedule of programs, if you miss one I guess.
